Benefits of Using Invisalign Clear Braces

Invisalign teeth aligners have been around for more than 20 years. The technology continues to advance, giving you the best results along with several advantages over traditional braces.

Virtually Invisible

Woman Using Invisalign Teeth Aligners - The Fort Collins DentistWith Invisalign clear braces, your orthodontic treatment can go virtually unnoticed by your peers. Don’t be afraid to smile for pictures or to feel confident for your job interview. The clear material fits right up against your teeth for a beautiful smile unhindered by bulky braces.

Smooth Comfort

The Invisalign clear aligner trays are made from a smooth, clear material. The trays gradually move your teeth into place without the discomfort of wires and brackets. With aligner trays, you won’t need to worry about a sore mouth and gums.

Eat Your Favorite Foods

Since Invisalign clear braces are easy to take out and put back in, you can still enjoy all your favorite foods. Simply remove the trays while you eat and place them back in when you’re finished.

Easy Dental Care

Aligner tray removal also means you can continue to take care of your teeth the same way you always have. Adult orthodontics don’t need to make tooth care clunky with specialized cleaning tools. Invisalign aligners make it easy to keep your teeth healthy and clean.

Why Choose The Fort Collins Dentist for Invisalign?

fort collins invisalign dentist dr lesko and her team
Dr. Allison Lesko is an Invisalign Gold Provider, which means she has completed a significant number of cases and earned that designation through actual clinical results, not just a certification course.

Her background covers more than aligners. She earned her DDS from UMKC School of Dentistry, completed a General Practice Residency at Truman Medical Center, and has spent her career focused on cosmetic and restorative work. She puts in at least 100 hours of continuing education every year, most of it in cosmetics, implants, and advanced dental techniques. She’s also an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. For Invisalign patients, that broader foundation matters: moving teeth well is one thing, but doing it in a way that accounts for your bite, your gum line, and how your whole smile looks together is another.

If dental anxiety has kept you from starting treatment, we offer sedation options to help you feel calm and comfortable during your appointments. Most patients are surprised by how low-key the appointments actually are once they get here.

Our office tends to attract people who have put off dental care for a while, and for good reason: there’s no lecture, no pressure, and no pretense. Dr. Lesko and her team create a fun and comfortable environment, and are always open to answer your questions and help you feel welcome and cared for at every appointment.

How Invisalign Treatment Works

What to Expect During Invisalign Treatment in Fort Collins

Woman with Invisalign Teeth Aligners - The Fort Collins DentistHere’s what the Invisalign process looks like from start to finish:

  • Initial consultation: Dr. Lesko examines your teeth and identifies what you’re looking to correct. This will help her determine whether Invisalign is a good fit for you.
  • Digital impressions: We take impressions of your teeth and bite and send them to the Invisalign lab.
  • ClinCheck review: In about two to three weeks, Invisalign sends back a ClinCheck — a visual showing the prescribed tooth movements and the estimated treatment length. We review this with you and go over costs before moving forward.
  • Aligner delivery and first wear: Once you approve the plan, your first set of trays is ordered. You’ll come in for a delivery appointment a few weeks later, where Dr. Lesko will show you how to wear the clear aligners and guide you through wearing them during your day.
  • Wear your aligners: You’ll wear each set of trays for about a week before moving to the next set. Plan on wearing them 22 hours a day for best results. Take them out when you eat, drink, brush, and floss.
  • Check-in appointments: Every so often you’ll come in so we can confirm your teeth are moving on track. This will help us make sure your next set of aligners fit well and will effectively straighten your teeth.
  • Enjoy your results! Once you and Dr. Lesko agree that your smile has hit your target goals, you can enjoy your new smile for years to come. Most patients complete treatment within a year, though more complex cases can take longer.

Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a clear aligner system that straightens teeth over time using a series of custom-made removable trays. It works on the same principle as traditional braces — applying controlled pressure to move teeth into position — but without any metal hardware.
Is Invisalign easy to use?
Yes. The trays snap in and out easily and are comfortable for most people to wear throughout the day. The main commitment is discipline — you need to wear them close to 22 hours a day to stay on track.
How much does Invisalign cost in Fort Collins?
Invisalign cost depends on the complexity of your case. Simpler cases with minor adjustments run lower; more involved corrections cost more. We go over the full cost estimate during the ClinCheck review, before you commit to anything. Many dental insurance plans include some Invisalign coverage, and we can help you figure out what your plan covers.
Invisalign vs. braces — which is better?
It depends on the case. Invisalign works well for mild to moderate alignment issues and is generally preferred by adults who don’t want visible hardware. Traditional braces may be better suited for more complex corrections. Dr. Lesko can review your specific situation and help you weigh the options during your consultation.
How do I get started?
Call us or request an appointment online. Dr. Lesko will sit down with you, review what you want to correct, and walk you through whether Invisalign is the right path for your situation. The consultation is free.
